TEACHING & RESEARCH
Margot is an Instructor and PhD Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Alberta. She teaches in the areas of Canadian politics, gender and politics, and contemporary political theory. Working with distinguished gender and politics scholar, Dr. Lois Harder, her research examines the governance of intimate life in Canada, with a focus on how public policy and law impacts how people think about kinship, including their choices to create families and decisions surrounding parenting and marriage.
Her master's and doctoral research is nationally recognized. She is the recipient of Canada's most prestigious doctoral and master's-level scholarships; the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Canada Graduate Master's Scholarship and the Vanier Canada Graduate Doctoral Scholarship.
